Course Overview
This one-day course is designed to provide detailed information for technical, operations and production accounting personnel on the different types of meters used for metering natural gas and acid gas in gas production and processing facilities. The main emphasis of the course is on the installation, operation and calculation methods for orifice meters. In this regard, the applicable standards and regulations are reviewed and the basic natural gas properties and calculation methods are explained. In addition to the orifice meter, there are other types of meters that have also come into use. Acid gas needs special consideration, as it is fully saturated with water vapour at varying reflux drum conditions, which affects the calculation of flow. All of these topics are fully covered, and specific calculation examples are included in the course.
0.8 CEU (Continuing Education Units) or 8 PDH (Professional Development Hours)
A complete set of course materials and lunches are included.
