Course Overview
This two day course is designed for technical professionals and field operators interested in the unique challenges associated with CBM and Gas Shale production. The course begins with a discussion of CBM, its economic impact, unique reservoir characteristics, and the necessary facilities planning that is required over the life of the field. Gas Shale is compared to CBM and conventional gas production to introduce participants to its unique performance issues. The remainder of the course covers the issues that arise from the requirements to operate unconventional gas wells at historically low pressures, including the increased importance of evaporation/condensation at low pressures, gas well deliquification, gas compression, wellsite facilities, gas gathering issues, and produced water.
