Coming from a mechanical engineering background this course was just the right amount of chemistry to make me feel confident, but not so much that I felt lost and overwhelmed.

My job often requires or is greatly enhanced by having a non-expert-level understanding of petroleum refining processes, but I didn't receive that as part of my formal education (Mechanical Engineering), which is why I took this course. I highly recommend this course to anyone in a similar situation. The instructor (Marv) was extremely knowledgeable and was able to answer any question we could come up with. As a result of this course, I feel much more confident in my ability to discuss and apply this knowledge to my job as a reliability engineer.

This course provided a valuable overview of the crude refining process, and then a detailed look at each step. Bitumen upgrading was less of a focus, and the information on this topic was not as in-depth as I was expecting. The instructor was very knowledgeable about crude refining, and his commentary was interesting.
This as a very thorough introductory course, from a very knowledgeable instructor. I haev a much great understanding of the fundamentals of the industry than I did going in. It gave me what I was lookign for.
