| Course Information: |
 | | Overview | This three day course will introduce participants to the ASME Section VIII, Division 1 code for Unfired Pressure Vessels. It will provide an understanding of the background of the overall ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, it organization, and applicability. Basic design rules and formulas, materials, welding, fabrication, testing, certification and documentation will be discussed. An extensive look into pressure vessel metallurgy, steel development and manufacturing will be done. Videos of steel making, clad manufacturing, and pressure vessels in fabrication will be presented. Sample design problems and fabrication issues will be addressed.
A complete set of course materials and lunches are included. |

| John R. Curry | | John Curry earned an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin following undergraduate studies in mechancial engineering. He founded a major fabrication firm in 1966, and was its President, CEO, and senior designer until he sold the firm in 2003. He currently provides consulting services in pressure vessel design and fabrication to the energy industries. His varied experience as a vessel designer, metallurgist, and business owner makes his approach to the pressure vessel industry unique. John continues to be active in the Steel Plate Fabricators of America, and was Chairman of the Pressure Vessel Section in 2000-2001. |
